Position Overview

  • As the Laboratory Operations Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality standards are met.
  • You will play a pivotal role in managing laboratory personnel, implementing protocols, and optimizing processes to support the organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the laboratory team, including supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for team members and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee quality control, inventory management and logistics for the lab.
  • Develop and implement standardized protocols, procedures, and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to maintain accuracy, reliability, and integrity of laboratory results.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines, accreditation standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and address any non-conformities.
  • Manage laboratory resources, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and budget allocation.
  • Optimize resource utilization to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Develop training programs and provide ongoing education to laboratory staff on new techniques, procedures, and regulations.
  • Foster a culture of professional development and mentorship to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or related field). Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in laboratory operations, with 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality management systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and procurement.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Professional Certification is a plus.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and practices in a laboratory setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
