Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Minna, Niger
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • As a Mechanical Engineer in a pharmaceutical factory in Minna, Nigeria, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical systems and equipment within the facility.
  • Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and overseeing mechanical processes to support the production and efficiency goals of the pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, and manufacturing machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of problems.

Equipment Design and Installation:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, select, and install new mechanical systems or upgrades to existing ones.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and good engineering practices.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in collaboration with production and quality control teams.
  • Implement changes to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to equipment specifications, maintenance activities, and modifications.
  • Generate regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and improvement initiatives.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and standards affecting mechanical systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with regulatory requirements and participate in audits as needed.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including electrical and chemical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve interdisciplinary challenges.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training to operations and maintenance staff on the proper use, care, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in pharmaceutical engineering.

Emergency Response:

  • Act as a key contributor to the emergency response team, providing technical expertise during equipment failures or emergencies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • years of experience in a similar role within a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and modeling.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, such as cGMP, FDA, and other relevant standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
