Premium Care initiative was founded on November 12, 2018 and incorporated under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on March 27, 2019 as a non-profit non-Governmental organization following its board decision. The organization was formed to respond to integrated health and social systems demand in Nigeria. Over the time the work of organization has grown to include a focus on health and related program evaluation, health systems strengthening, structured capacity building, community led monitoring and health programs for key and vulnerable population.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Consultant - Nutrition Assessment

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutritional Assessment Consultant to join our Livelihood Protection Portfolio to implement a cascade of nutritional assessment of children.
  • The consultant will oversee comprehensive nutritional assessments of children, Additionally, the role entails knowledge networking, capacity building, and aligning with project objectives to provide evidence-based recommendations for enhancing nutritional status and overall health.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive plan for the nutritional assessment intervention, outlining the scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Conduct capacity building of stakeholders on the conduct of nutritional assessment.
  • Develop a data management plan for nutritional assessment in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance for stakeholders to conduct nutritional assessments of children.
  • Provide technical assistance to stakeholders to interpret nutritional assessment findings and provide technical assistance for stakeholders to conduct individualized nutrition counseling and education to children and their families.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions, adjusting plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Field Visits to Sub National Units.
  • Compile and submit weekly progress report.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Nutrition or Public Health.
  • Institute for Dietitian in Nigeria (IDN) credential or equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in nutrition-related field.
  • Experience in multi-sectoral program design and implementation related to nutritional assessment focusing on children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity building of GoN and Stakeholders in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated experience with conducting data collection and analyses.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to solve problems with energy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English is required.
  • Proficiency in conducting nutritional assessments, interpreting data, and developing nutrition care plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and educate children and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to diverse settings and populations.
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems and nutrition analysis software preferred.
  • Familiarity with Orphans and Vulnerable Children programs is an added advantage.
