Bursar at the Borno State University

Borno State University is in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. It was established in 2016. It is made up of four Faculties and College of Health Sciences as follows; Agriculture, Arts and Education, Sciences, Social and Management Sciences and College of Health Sciences. In addition, it has a Centre for Research & Development and Center for Kanuri Ajami and Qur'anic Studies.

In accordance with the relevant provisions of the University Laws, the Governing Council of the University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates with requisite qualifications and experience to fill the position below:

Job Title: Bursar

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

• The Bursar shall be the Financial Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

Qualities of the Applicant for the Post
Applicants for the post must possess the following:

• B.Sc. Accounting Degree from a recognized University.
• Have any of the following professional accounting certificates ANAN, ICAN and any other nationally recognized certificates.
• At least Fifteen (15) years post qualification experience, ten (10) of which must be in the Bursary Department of a recognized Institution.

Tenure

• The successful candidate will hold office for a single term of Five (5) years only, effective from the date of appointment.

Age of Applicants:

• Eligible Candidates should not be more than Sixty (60) years of age at the time of assumption of duty.

Conditons of Service
The successful candidate for the post of Bursar shall be placed on a consolidated salary of a Bursar and will be entitled to privileges of a Principal Officer of the University.
