Job Title: Risk Analyst

Description 

  • Our client is looking to hire a Risk Analyst who will perform evaluations and work towards mitigating potential risk for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across various operational areas.
  • Utilise statistical models and data analysis techniques to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor and analyze key risk indicators to ensure timely detection of emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide recommendations for risk reduction and operational improvement based on thorough analysis.
  • Employ advanced statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Develop and refine risk models to enhance accuracy in predicting potential risks.
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws relatable to the betting industry in Nigeria.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance procedures and policies.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans to address and mitigate emerging risks promptly.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure swift and effective response to incidents.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on key risk indicators, providing insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Present findings to management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including trading, finance, and technology, to integrate risk management strategies seamlessly into operational processes.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the risk management function.
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement of overall risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements & Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., ICA, FRM, CFA) is a plus.
  • 5+ Proven experience in risk analysis, preferably within the sports betting or gaming industry.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Proficient in statistical modeling, data analysis, and risk assessment. Ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
  • In-depth understanding of sports betting operations, market dynamics, and relevant regulations. Familiarity with odds compilation and trading practices.
  • Experience with risk management software, data visualisation tools, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey complex risk concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving industry. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and implement timely risk management strategies.

Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 monthly.
