We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: School Counsellor

Location: Lekki, Victoria Island  - Lagos

Key Responsibilities

  • Individual Counseling:

    • Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address personal, social, and academic concerns.
    • Provide support for students experiencing emotional challenges, behavioral issues, or personal crises.
  • Group Counseling:

    • Facilitate group counseling sessions to address common concerns or themes among students.
    • Collaborate with teachers to identify and support groups of students with similar needs.
  • Crisis Intervention:

    • Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing immediate support and coordinating with appropriate authorities.
    • Develop crisis intervention plans and collaborate with the school's emergency response team.
  • Academic Advising:

    • Assist students in academic planning, course selection, and setting educational goals.
    • Work closely with teachers and parents to identify and address academic challenges.
  • College and Career Counseling:

    • Provide guidance on college and career exploration, including college admissions processes, scholarships, and vocational opportunities.
    • Organize and conduct college and career fairs, workshops, and information sessions.
  • Parent and Teacher Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and teachers to address students' holistic development.
    • Attend parent-teacher conferences and provide insights on students' social and emotional well-being.
  • Preventive Programs:

    • Develop and implement preventive programs related to substance abuse, bullying, and mental health.
    • Conduct workshops on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and resilience.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions.
    • Provide regular reports to school administrators and participate in case conferences as needed.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 3 years work experience.
