Job Description
- Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Commercials / Business Development Manager to drive the company growth and expand the brand’s business in the construction sector.
- You will be responsible for leading the brand’s commercial and business development efforts in the construction sector.
- You will identify new business opportunities, develop and maintain relationships with clients, and oversee the financial aspects of projects to ensure profitability.
Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the company's client base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Lead the preparation and submission of bids and proposals for construction projects.
- Collaborate with the estimating and project management teams to develop competitive proposals.
- Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
- Review and approve contract documents to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests.
- Oversee the financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
- Monitor project financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities in the construction sector.
- Use market insights to develop targeted business development strategies and marketing campaigns.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the commercial and business development teams.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including project management, engineering, and finance, to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and regulatory bodies, to facilitate project approvals and permits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's Degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of proven experience in commercial management, business development, or related roles in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, project costing, and financial management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and construction management software.
Salary
- N800,000 - N1,200,000 monthly.
