Job Title: Bursar

Location: Abeokuta, Ogun

Responsibilities

  • The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and is directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the management and control of the financial administration of the University. 
  • He/She shall advise the Vice-Chancellor on finance-related matters, coordinate the development and update the University's financial management plans, coordinate the preparation of periodic income and expenditure statements, balance sheet, cash flow estimates and consolidation, when necessary.

Requirements for the Candidate
The candidate is expected to:

  • Demonstrate evidence of consummate management and leadership passion and drive in previous positions and in addition, must possess excellent communication and interpersonal
  • relationship skills.
  • Exhibit the ability to be a team leader, who can lead by example with clear mentorship skills and plans, should not be older than sixty (60) years of age upon appointment.
  • Exhibit a considerable degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency on matters of financial resource management with outstanding experience at management level.
  • Possess personal integrity, demonstrate transparency in private and public life, and be able to command the respect and loyalty of staff, students and other members of the University Community.
  • Be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications to e- accounting as applicable to the running of a complex and modern University System.
  • Be a person with good leadership qualities who can inspire and motivate colleagues, a person with clear vision for the development of the University and must be ready to implement the vision of the University.
  • Competency in yearly budget preparation, finance performance monitoring and reporting is essential.
  • He/She must be focused and innovative.
  • He/She must be technologically savvy.
  • Enjoy strong physical and mental health.

Salary and Allowances

  • The salary and allowances attached to this position are very attractive. 
  • The University runs a salary scale that compares with what is obtainable in Public Universities in Nigeria.

Conditions of Service:

  •  The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years only.
