Association for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities of Nigeria (AIDDN) is a non-governmental organization that advocates for the rights and welfare of Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in Nigeria. AIDDN's membership comprises Persons with IDD, Parents/Carers of Children and Adults with IDD, Professionals, interested CSOs, and private Individuals with genuine interest and commitment to making life better for all our Children with IDD. AIDDN is registered with the C.A.C. and is a member of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD). AIDDN is a cluster of Persons with IDD and was established to be the “Voice” for Persons with IDD, who cannot defend themselves or advocate for their rights and needs. IDD is a group of conditions that affect the cognitive, physical, and social development of individuals, such as Down-Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Microcephalus, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), and such as related to Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Radio Jingles Specialist / Producer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • We are sourcing proposals from qualified professionals to produce radio jingles inPidgin/English, and Yoruba languages for awareness creation and the sensitization on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) across focal states in Nigeria.

Tasks/Deliverables

  • Develop a plan for the task.
  • Organize a start-up meeting with the AIDDN Project team to review relevant literature and materials used in the A4C Project.
  • Develop and present the draft jingle for review and validation.
  • Submit a flash drive containing the final/completed Radio jingles to the AIDDN Project team.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in producing radio jingles and voiceovers, preferably related to disability inclusion and rights sensitization and awareness creation.
  • Additionally, they should have a working knowledge and experience in Social and Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) and related development work.
  • They must also have a good understanding of the challenges faced by Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Nigeria, as well as the safeguarding standards that apply to Persons with IDD.
  • The minimum educational requirement for this position is a diploma in the field of Social Work, Health Education, Development Studies, Mass Communication, or Social Sciences.
  • The ideal consultant should be adaptable in their approach and ensure they uphold all safeguarding standards.
