Licensed by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), our verification services are available by API or via our full-service Managed Verification Platform.

Our customers can leverage our services to enable contactless customer onboarding, confirm National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), and Driver’s License (FRSC) and secure e-commerce transactions using our AI-powered facial recognition and liveness detection technology.

We ar recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Associate Legal Counsel

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities
The Legal Counsel shall be responsible for:

  • Ensuring effective management of the Company’s corporate ethics and government compliance programs.
  • Advising management on all legal matters affecting the company.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for and on behalf of the company.
  • Reviewing laws and regulations, including applicable bills or exposure drafts, impacting or potentially impacting the company’s compliance requirements and business operations.
  • Drafting and reviewing internal corporate policies of the company.
  • Managing and monitoring dispute resolution proceedings in which the company is involved.
  • Evaluating and advising on the company’s legal risks and risk management strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with the data protection laws applicable to the company, as well as the company’s internal data protection policies and procedures.
  • Acting as the company’s liaison with relevant regulators, authorities and agencies and ensuring that the required regulatory reports, filings and notifications are timeously transmitted.
  • Ensuring that the company complies with its obligations under the law and the company’s Articles of Association.
  • Ensuring that the minutes of the company’s Board and general meetings are taken and kept.
  • Maintaining statutory registers as required by the Companies and Allied Matters Act and other applicable laws.
  • Ensuring compliance, formulating standards and executing procedures to guarantee that the compliance programs for the company are effective and efficient in detecting, preventing, and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of post-call experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum classification of 2.2.
  • Minimum classification of 2.2 from the Nigerian Law school.
  • Strong understanding of corporate-commercial law, intellectual property, data protection, and technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
