We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Technical Advisor - Nurse Leadership Initiative

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time
Duration: One Year
Reports To: Project Director/Manager

Job Summary

  • The Senior Technical Advisor for the Nurse Leadership Initiative will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of the initiative.
  • This role will involve strategic planning, program development, capacity building, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance nurse leadership within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans for the Nurse Leadership Initiative.
    • Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify opportunities and challenges in nurse leadership development.
    • Develop short-term and long-term objectives aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
    • Develop research protocols in line with the project objectives.
  • Program Development:

    • Design and oversee the development of training modules, resources, and materials to support nurse leadership development.
    • Develop innovative strategies to enhance leadership skills, promote collaboration, and foster a culture of excellence in patient care.
    • Ensure that program activities are evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and responsive to the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Assistance and Support:

    • Provide technical guidance and support to project staff, partners, and stakeholders on nurse leadership best practices and methodologies.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on nurse leadership, offering insights and recommendations to address complex challenges and opportunities.
    • Monitor program implementation, evaluate effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Capacity Building:

    • Facilitate capacity-building activities, workshops, and training for nurses and healthcare professionals to enhance leadership competencies.
    • Mentor and coach nurse leaders at all levels to develop their skills, overcome obstacles, and achieve their professional goals.
    • Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Collaboration and Networking:

    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare organizations, professional associations, and academic institutions.
    • Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and meetings to promote the Nurse Leadership Initiative and share best practices.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate nurse leadership development into broader organizational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in nursing leadership, healthcare management, or related field.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating leadership development programs.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, quality improvement, and patient-centered care principles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
