Position Summary

• The Financial Analyst at Nairametrics is a pivotal role designed to enhance our financial news and research capabilities. This position is responsible for meticulously tracking and analyzing equities, currency markets, and fixed income securities.
• The individual will report on earnings, corporate announcements, market movements, stock market performances, exchange rate fluctuations, forex policies, and fixed-income market dynamics.
• The Financial Analyst will also participate in Annual General Meetings (AGMs), investor relations calls, and relevant events to gather insights directly from the source.
• Furthermore, this role involves writing insightful news and research articles on these topics and may require appearances on TV or other media outlets to provide expert analysis and commentary on market trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Monitoring: Continuous tracking of equities, currency markets, and fixed income securities to identify trends, significant movements, and investment opportunities.
• Earnings and Announcements Reporting: Analyze and report on corporate earnings, announcements, market movements, and stock performance, providing readers with timely and accurate information.
• Exchange Rate and Forex Policy Analysis: Keep abreast of exchange rate movements, central bank policies, and forex market developments, analyzing their implications for investors and the broader economy.
• Fixed Income Securities Tracking: Monitor fixed income markets, including prices, yields, offers, and auction results, to inform investment strategies and reporting.
• Event Participation: Attend AGMs, investor relations calls, and other relevant financial events to gather firsthand information and insights.
• Content Creation: Write high-quality news and research articles that articulate complex financial data and market trends in an accessible manner for Nairametrics’ audience.
• Media Appearances: Represent Nairametrics in TV appearances or other media engagements to provide analysis and insights into financial markets.

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Work Experience:

• Proven experience in financial analysis, market research, or a related field, with a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
• Experience in journalism or financial reporting is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into accessible and engaging news and research articles.
• Previous experience in public speaking or media appearances is advantageous.
