FRAD over the years having been responding to the more than decade long conflict in Northeast Nigeria with operational presence in Various LGAs across the states. FRAD envision a sustainable future where everyone can access development a world no one is left behind, and work with a mission to build the resilience of vulnerable population using locally available solutions that ensures participation and bring meaningful development leaving no one behind. These mission and vision guide our responses and intervention in thematic areas of Nutrition, protection, Education, early recovery and livelihood and food security.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Protection Team Lead

Borno and Yobe

Duties and Responsibilities
Functions / Day to day activities:

  • Team Management: Lead and supervise the protection team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the effective implementation of protection activities and the achievement of project objectives.
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor the protection implementation in line with international standards and best practices, addressing the specific needs and vulnerabilities of target populations.
  • Case Management: Oversee the provision of case management services to identified persons, following  compliance with  best standard and project requirement  and also ensure  access to appropriate support and referrals where necessary
  • Community Engagement: Establish and maintain effective relationships with communities, local authorities, and other stakeholders to promote community participation, empowerment, and community ownership of protection initiatives.
  • Capacity Building: Identify training needs and develop capacity-building initiatives for staff, partners, and community members and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor the implementation of protection activities, collect and analyze data on program indicators, and prepare regular reports to track progress, identify challenges, and document lessons learned.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate closely with other sectors and organizations to ensure a holistic approach to protection programming
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and integrity of protection services and interventions, adhering to humanitarian principles, codes of conduct, and organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, with at least 3 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Must be honest, accountable, a good listener, able to work in a team, transparent and honest.
  • Must have understanding and ability to action and communicate DEI principles in all activities.
  • Must be computer literate, with a good knowledge of MS office suites and google workspace.
  • Good report writing and workshop facilitation.
  • The position will be based in Maiduguri with frequent travel to all field locations and take care of the protection component of the project which includes, GBV case management, child protection and mine action activities under the project.
  • Master’s degree in social science, with at least 3 years’ experience in GBV case management, PSS, Child protection and Mine action.  Proficient in Microsoft office suites and google workspace.
  • Fluent in Hausa, Kanuri and local languages within the LGAs of implementation.
