We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Community Mobilizer

Location: Kurfi LGA, Katsina
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

  • As a Community Mobilizer, you will play a key role in implementing community-based strategies to prevent and respond to SGBV and other protection risks in Kurfi LGA, Katsina State.
  • You will work closely with community members, local leaders, and relevant stakeholders to raise awareness, promote gender equality, and empower communities to address SGBV effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilize community members and local leaders to actively participate in SGBV prevention and response activities.
  • Conduct community sensitization sessions on gender equality, human rights, and the prevention of SGBV.
  • Facilitate the establishment and strengthening of community-based structures to identify, report, and respond to cases of SGBV.
  • Provide training and capacity-building support to community members and social workers on SGBV prevention, identification, and referral.
  • Support the implementation of preventative and responsive services for survivors of SGBV, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to advocate for policy changes and increased support for SGBV survivors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Gender Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in community mobilization, gender-based violence prevention, or related fields.
  • Must be from the Kurfi Local Government Area, Katsina State
  • Strong understanding of gender dynamics, human rights principles, and community-based approaches to development.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community members, local leaders, and government officials.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa languages (both written and spoken).
  • Experience working in humanitarian settings or with displaced populations is desirable.
