About the Job
- Experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy.
- Focus on medication safety support.
- Receive and review prescription orders.
- Supervise/oversee and closely reviews the work of support personnel.
- Orders, direct oversight of the preparation and dispensing of patient medications.
- Participate in department and system process improvement activities.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Maintaining the drug stock in the hospital at all times. This includes storing medications safely, processing orders, and purchasing medicine from suppliers.
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems
- Provides direct supervision to pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians working with the pharmacist
- Maintains distributive, and clinical competency in compliance to policy and sufficient to meet pharmacy standards for patient safety and effective therapy, including clinical monitoring, assessments, adherence and compliance
- Maintain records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the profession and to the quality of care provided by the department by participating in professional organizations, professional seminars, or maintaining advanced certification.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess Bachelor's Degrees in Pharmacy with relevant work experience.
