Job Title: Grants Specialist

Description and Objectives

  • We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to work as a grant specialist for our client. The selected candidate will be responsible for researching and analyzing grants opportunities, proposal writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • The Grant Specialist also has the responsibility of managing grants applications whilst ensuring coordination and compliance.

Responsibilities
Grant Management:

  • Coordinate proposal development processes by clarifying opportunities and needs, gathering and formatting information, writing and revising drafts, and obtaining relevant approvals from staff in advance of deadlines
  • Support organization’s business development strategies including design and implementation of necessary systems, prospecting for new grant opportunities and strategic partnership building.
  • Establish system for grants application monitoring including templates for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Identify and contact Agencies, Corporations or Governmental Organizations for fundraising opportunities and write grant applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies

Grants Compliance:

  • Respond to donor pre-award compliance inquiries and to ensure that compliance-related costs are included in proposal budgets.
  • Develop and implement tools and communication strategies to increase the visibility of and access to grant compliance resources across the organization.
  • Support project and/or award management staff with the assessment and monitoring of sub-award recipients.

Duty Station:

  • This is a full time role in Client’s Office.

Requirements
Required Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and five years of grants and contract administration experience working with public sector and nonprofit organizations.
  • Proven experience with budget management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work in a quickly changing environment, possess strong analytic/assessment/organizational skills and be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional people skills and the ability to develop trusting and productive relationships with geographically diverse colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills and comfort with financial systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
