Job Title: Professional Cleaning Supervisor

Location: Tincan Island, Apapa, Lagos

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced cleaning supervisor who will function as a member of a company’s cleaning and janitorial services unit.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all cleaning workers, implementing company policies and procedures related to a clean work environment in clients offices/locations, performing regular inspections of cleaners, and maintaining budgets and inventory for the cleaning, scheduling and coordinating staff, performing specialized services to ensure all areas and equipment are clean, and communicating with client’s representatives at his/her assigned location.
  • You may also hire and train new team members. He/she tries as much as possible to make sure that cleaners under his/her supervision carry out their functions effectively and promptly too.

  • The goal is to ensure our cleaning services is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.

Duties

  • Establishment of cleaning standards and procedures for workers and ensure adherence to these standards and procedures
  • Coaching and developing employees (cleaners)
  • Scheduling and assigning specific duties/roles to cleaners and also ensuring that they are carried out expertly
  • Inspection of cleaning equipment on a regular basis so as to know when they are worn-out and also request for replacement
  • Controlling and monitoring the usage of cleaning materials so as to avoid or minimize waste and/or misuse
  • Providing any form of required assistance to cleaners while they carry out their duties.
  • Prompt escalation of work issues from the location under supervision
  • Liaise with the Manager on a daily basis regarding current tasks and assist in the planning of future tasks.
  • Ensure all assigned duties are carried out and that resources are fully utilized
  • Ensure all staff wear all appropriate PPE and adhere with all safety protocols
  • Actively promote Health & Safety and directly report any breach directly to the Manager
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are met and maintained in all facilities and report shortcomings/fault to the manager.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND in a relevant field of study
  • Previous experience as a cleaning supervisor in a cleaning services company is a MUST
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in cleaning out of which 3 must be in supervision of cleaning procedures
  • Must have previous experience of managing a team
  • Must possess excellent communication skills in speaking, writing, and even in listening
  • Must have good interpersonal attributes. That is to say, the supervisor must be someone that gets along easily with people (easily approachable)
  • Must be outstanding when it comes to organization and coordination of both cleaners and their activities
  • Must display a high level of integrity due to the fact that he/she will be in a position to take care of Client’s property.
  • Must have great knowledge of the use and application of cleaning chemicals
  • Excellent decision-making ability is a must-have
  • Must be proactive in the line of duty
  • Must have the ability and willingness to work as part of a team, and most importantly, lead a team
  • Should have a clear understanding of customer service guidelines/principles and expectations
  • The ability to implement and adhere to standards and procedures including Health & safety protocols
  • Dependable and Reliable
  • Good personal grooming
  • Must be able to speak and read English
  • Must be residents of Tincan & Apapa environs this is a MUST.
