Job Title: Head Coach / Technical Director (Football Academy)

Job Description

  • This role combines the responsibilities of both a Technical Director and a Head Coach, offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced leader to shape the future of young Nigerian footballers.

Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the playing philosophy and style of play for the entire academy.
  • Oversee the academy's coaching staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Scout and recruit talented young players across various age groups.
  • Identify potential professional opportunities for academy graduates and liaise with professional clubs, scouts, and agents.
  • Analyze player performance data and implement strategies for individual and team improvement.
  • Manage the academy budget for equipment, travel, and other program-related expenses (depending on the structure).

Coaching & Player Development:

  • Plan, lead, and oversee training sessions for all academy age groups, ensuring adherence to the academy's playing philosophy.
  • Conduct regular player evaluations, providing constructive feedback to individual players.
  • Monitor player progress and implement strategies to address weaknesses and maximize potential.
  • Foster a positive and competitive training environment that prioritizes player development and sportsmanship.
  • Collaborate with the academy performance analyst to utilize data insights for training and player improvement.

Overall Academy Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Nigerian football regulations and academy registration requirements.
  • Oversee the smooth day-to-day operations of the academy program.
  • Represent the academy at external events, conferences, or competitions.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider football community.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in professional football, ideally at a high level in Nigeria or another African nation.
  • A Recognised Coaching License (or equivalent qualification recognized by the Nigeria Football Federation) and a proven track record of developing young players.
  • Strong understanding of modern football tactics, training methodologies, and player development principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to scout and identify talented young players with high potential.
  • Passion for football development in Nigeria and a commitment to building a successful academy program.

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in a football academy environment, preferably in Nigeria.
  • Fluency in English and a strong understanding of the Nigerian football landscape.
  • Experience using video analysis software and other performance analysis tools.
