Job Title: Design and Implementation Engineer
Location: Lagos

Essential Job Functions
- Understand clients' energy needs and design optimal solar PV systems, considering factors like roof space, energy consumption, and budget.
- Utilize solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope) to model solar energy production and optimise system layouts.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations to determine system size, component selection, cable sizing, and shading analysis.
- Prepare engineering drawings and schematics for solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and industry standards.
- Conduct commissioning and testing of solar PV systems to verify functionality and performance.
- Oversee the installation process, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety regulations.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design reports, installation manuals, and as-built drawings.
- Document Processes and cooperate with the technical team to share information across the company.
- Near miss reporting, incident reporting and carrying out good housekeeping.
- Work with procurement teams to select and source solar panels, inverters, and other system components.
- Notify and communicate changes in drawings following the design process.
- Communicate any issue with the specifications provided for a drawing and recommend solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest solar technologies, design trends, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of safety at work practices and organised.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good CAD skills and an ability to read and draw standard line diagrams and multi line diagrams (Autocad, Sketchup).
- Ability to draw free hand sketches.
- Good learning skills and a track record of self development.
- Ability to work effectively while prioritising important tasks.
- Ability to use Google suite (Docs, Sheets etc).
- Ability to work without supervision.
