Job Description
- The Finance Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide valuable insights to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
- Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvement.
- Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and variance analysis.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure timely filing of tax returns.
Treasury and Cash Management:
- Manage the organization's cash flow, including forecasting cash needs and optimizing liquidity.
- Monitor banking activities, reconcile bank accounts, and oversee the processing of payments and receipts.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks, such as currency exchange risk and interest rate risk.
Financial Operations and Controls:
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Review and approve accounting transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency through automation and technology solutions.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a high-performing culture.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the team, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Foster collaboration and cross-functional partnerships with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and financial software applications.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
