Job Title: Head of Recovery

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading recovery activities across all cities and locations.
  • Designing and implementing recovery programs addressing short and long-term challenges.
  • Conducting portfolio analysis to identify risks and areas for improvement.
  • Developing data-driven solutions to mitigate credit risk and enhance recovery rates.
  • Maintaining effective communication channels with clients to facilitate the recovery process.
  • Developing and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Leading, managing, and developing collections teams across current and new city launches.
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of recovery programs.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of recovery plans and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with teams to integrate recovery plans into overall business operations.
  • Ensuring recovery training plans and documentation are up to date.
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to build strong partnerships and enhance recovery efforts and regularly reporting on the status of recovery initiatives to them.
  • Staying informed about relevant laws and regulations related to loan recovery and ensuring all recovery activities comply with legal and ethical standards.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business administration, or a related field, Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5- 8+ years of proven experience as head of recovery or similar role.
  • Minimum of 4 year’s experience in a managerial role.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit risk management and recovery strategies.
  • Stakeholder engagement and business process improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong Leadership and crisis management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Microfinance Certification and Bankone Knowledge is an added advantage.
