Job Description

  • As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our retail operations, including sales performance, inventory management, customer service, and staff supervision. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of retail staff to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store, including opening and closing procedures, cash management, and inventory control.
  • Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of product presentation and merchandising to enhance the visual appeal of the store and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales promotions, events, and marketing initiatives to attract customers and increase foot traffic.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular staff training and development sessions to enhance product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service excellence.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment where teamwork, communication, and innovation are encouraged.
  • Handle any escalated customer complaints or issues, resolving them effectively and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and expansion.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (BSc) in Business Administration or any related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of retail experience, preferably with experience in Shoprite, Spar, or similar retail chains.
  • Proven track record of success in retail management, with a strong focus on driving sales performance and achieving targets.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of retail staff.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions to drive business results.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and senior management.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions independently, with a proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the retail industry.
