African Foundries Limited (AFL) was established to support the accelerating growth in Nigeria by making the country self-reliant for steel rebars and eliminating its dependence on imported rebars. AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton per year capacity for high strength rebars and allied products.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chemical Engineer

Location: Ogijo, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Test Oxygen for purity and moisture content at various stages of process using burette and moisture meter.
  • Observe pressure, temperature, level and flow guages to ensure standard operation.
  • Adjust equipment according to test results and knoweldege of process and equipment.
  • Turn valves to transfer compressed oxygen to storage cylinders.
  • Running of cryogenic pumps as back up supply for oxygen and nitrogen gases.
  • Daily analysis of water samples and back washing of the water treatment unit.
  • Communicate with Shift In-Charge in case of any parameter’s abnormalities noticed to ensure that accurate condition of field equipment is maintained.
  • Maintained and record accurate, timely log sheet data of equipment and closely follow their performance.
  • Observe pressure, storage level, temperature level and flow gauges to make sure of standard operations.
  • Turn valves in specified sequence to control flow of air through series of units that compress and liquefy it, remove carbon dioxide and other impurities and separate resulting products into Nitrogen and Oxygen
  • Performing Daily Field Operations Activity.
  • Conducted daily cooling water quality analysis for process equipment.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess HND / B.Sc Degrees with 2 - 4 years relevant work experience.
