We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Financial Analyst

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full time

Purpose of the Job (Brief)

  • The role of the financial analyst is to develop, maintain financial principles, practices and procedures that cover the full spectrum of financial and cost account functions.

Essential Functions

  • Financial Modelling: Building and maintaining complex financial models to analyse and forecast financial performance, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Data Analysis: Analysing financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by gathering and analysing financial data, identifying trends, and providing input on assumptions.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and presenting financial reports and presentations to management and stakeholders, including variance analysis and explanations of financial performance.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Collaborating with business units to develop financial plans and forecasts, track performance against targets, and provide insights into business performance.
  • Cost Analysis: Analysing cost structures and cost drivers to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Conducting ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by management, such as scenario analysis, profitability analysis, or M&A analysis.

Educational Level
Must have:

  • First Degree in Finance / Accounting.

Working Experience:

  • 6 - 8 years’ experience in similar role.
  • At least 6 years in a managerial role related discipline
  • Professional Accounting Certification (ICAN, ACA, and ACCA) is required.

Desirable / Added advantage:

  • An MBA will be an added advantage
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards
  • Expert knowledge of financial systems and processes
  • Relevant experience in audit and costing is an added advantage.
