Job Title: Resident Medical Officer

Job Description

  • The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Starcare International Hospital plays a critical role in providing continuous, high-quality medical care to our patients.
  • As an RMO, you will work closely with our team of experienced healthcare professionals across various departments to deliver effective treatment and care.
  • You will be responsible for managing the medical care of patients from admission to discharge, including diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care with specialists.
  • This position requires a commitment to patient safety, a passion for healthcare, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient rounds daily, assess patients’ conditions, and develop treatment plans in consultation with senior medical staff.
  • Perform clinical procedures and interventions as necessary, including but not limited to IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administering medications.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the hospital, providing resuscitation and stabilization as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing compassionate care and clear information about diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognosis.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, and other specialists, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
  • Participate in continuing medical education, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution, with full registration with the Medical and Dental Council.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform a wide range of medical procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of current medical practices and protocols, with a commitment to adhering to ethical medical practices and guidelines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the hospital’s needs.
