Description

  • We are looking for a friendly and experienced Assistant Manager, Legal (Contract Specialist) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and reviewing various agreements, including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, sales/purchasing agreements, consulting agreements, and licensing agreements.
  • You will serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters, ensuring timely review and approval of variations. You will also provide redlined recommendations and negotiate directly with customer attorneys or purchasing staff until consensus has been reached.
  • As an Assistant Manager, Legal (Contract Specialist), you will maintain contractual records and documentation, provide guidance on contract matters to project managers and other operational staff, and develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy.
  • We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge and experience in drafting legal contracts and agreements.
  • The ideal candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively alone and in a team.
  • Attention to detail, good organization skills, and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously are also essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) is required.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a legal function, with at least 5 years of experience performing contract review and drafting function in a top-tier law firm or multinational corporation.
  • Extensive knowledge of current contractual language and terminology, corporate governance principles, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an impeccable mastery of the English language.
  • Good organization skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and in a team for the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
