Job Summary

  • The Network Administrator plays a pivotal role in maintaining, securing, and optimizing our firm's network and IT infrastructure.
  • This includes overseeing the network’s architecture, ensuring robust security measures, managing servers, and aligning IT capabilities with our business objectives.
  • The role demands a proactive approach to enhance IT efficiency, and innovation, and support the firm's technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management and Optimization:

  • Design, implement, and oversee the networking infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and performance across routers, switches, wireless networks, and security devices.
  • Spearhead the deployment and management of both data and voice communication networks, embracing.

Security and Compliance:

  • Champion network and systems security, employing advanced firewalls, encryption protocols, and security frameworks to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
  • Develop and enforce robust security policies and practices, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance and resilience.

Performance Analysis and Enhancement:

  • Conduct continuous monitoring and analysis of network performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly to maintain optimal operations.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to enhance system functionality and user experience.

Vendor and Service Provider Management:

  • Manage relationships with ISPs and other service providers, ensuring adherence to SLAs and optimizing service quality.
  • Function as a liaison between the firm and external vendors for network-related services and technologies.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
  • Create and update network diagrams and technical manuals for internal use.

User Support and Capacity Building:

  • Offer technical support to end-users, resolving network and system-related issues efficiently.
  • Design and deliver training programs on IT systems and protocols to enhance staff competency.

Data Integrity and Recovery:

  • Implement robust data backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Oversee the management of storage solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.

Collaborative IT Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate closely with IT colleagues to align the network infrastructure with broader IT and business strategies.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to the Head of IT on infrastructure performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

System Administration:

  • Manage and optimize IT systems and applications, including but not limited to IP-PBX systems, Windows servers, and desktop environments.
  • Ensure systems are up-to-date, secure, and aligned with operational requirements.

Flexibility and Adaptation:

  • Remain adaptable, taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support the evolving needs of the organization.

Specification / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in network administration or a closely related IT role.
  • CCNP certification is essential.

Competence Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in network and systems management, including advanced knowledge of security protocols, security system management, and system optimization.
  • Experience with IP-PBX systems, Microsoft 356 environments, Hyper V-VM management, Cisco L2/L3 switch, W-Fi network, Active Directory, Checkpoint firewall, and disaster recovery planning will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and technical acumen.
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
  • Effective communication and people skills, capable of working collaboratively across teams.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
