We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients and food items as directed by the chef or kitchen manager. This may include chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and measuring ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing countertops, and cleaning kitchen equipment.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies. This may involve restocking items as needed and notifying management when supplies are running low.
• Support chefs and cooks during food preparation and cooking processes. This may include fetching ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and following recipes accurately.
• Help organize kitchen workstations and storage areas to ensure efficiency and safety. This may involve arranging utensils, labelling containers, and storing food properly.
• Assist with plating and garnishing dishes to ensure they are presented attractively before being served to customers.
• Always adhere to health and safety standards and regulations. This includes proper handling of food, adherence to sanitation guidelines, and maintaining a clean working environment.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff members to ensure smooth operations and timely service. This may involve communicating effectively and assisting colleagues as needed.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing kitchen priorities and requirements. This may involve assisting in different areas of the kitchen as needed and taking on additional responsibilities during busy periods.

Requirement

• Must possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification
