Job Summary
As an AC, Freezer, and Chilling Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of air conditioning systems, freezers, and chilling equipment within an organization or facility. Your primary objective will be to ensure that these systems operate efficiently, reliably, and safely to meet the operational needs of the establishment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, and routine servicing of air conditioning units, freezers, and chilling equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues with AC systems, freezers, and chilling equipment to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Repair and Replacement: Conduct repairs and replacement of faulty components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, fans, and electrical wiring, to restore proper functionality and efficiency.
  • Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly, including proper storage, handling, and disposal procedures in compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • System Calibration: Calibrate and adjust control settings, temperature sensors, pressure switches, and other system parameters to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and temperature consistency.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and parts inventory. Generate reports on equipment status, performance trends, and maintenance schedules as required.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, breakdowns, and system failures to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operation of essential cooling systems.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations governing the operation and maintenance of AC systems, freezers, and chilling equipment. Implement safety protocols and best practices to prevent accidents and hazards.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and technical guidance to facility staff on proper operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols related to AC systems, freezers, and chilling equipment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in HVAC/R technology, refrigeration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of air conditioning systems, commercial freezers, and chilling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools, testing instruments, and specialized equipment used in HVAC/R maintenance.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for off-site maintenance assignments.

Salary
N90,000 - N100,000 Monthly.
