The Edo State Public Service Commission is vested with the responsibilities of treating matters concerning the State Civil Service with respect to Appointments, Promotions, Discipline, Confirmation of Appointments, Transfers, Retirements, Petitions and Other related matters.

The Civil Service Commission carries out its functions and ministerial responsibilities in strict compliance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Edo State Civil Service Commission Law, Public Service Rules, Schemes of Service and other relevant Extant Circulars.

Job Title: Senior Administrative Officer / Administrative Officer I

Key Responsibilities

  • Make submissions and prepare draft letters on specific matters
  • Initiate the preparation of draft memorandum and speeches.
  • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of periodic reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department as necessary or requested
  • Lead, Coach, mentor and develop staff to meet expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
  • Appropriately communicate agency information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email and regular interpersonal communication.
  • Oversee general facility maintenance
  • Manage employee's health and safety in the work place by ensuring adherence to employee safety and health regulations Agency-wide
  • Ensure all departments have appropriate space, infrastructure, and workplace environment to function at an optimal level as defined EDSG policy, standards and guidelines.
  • Manage the fleet and drivers and other associated assignment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in any of the disciplines of Social Science or Humanities.
  • Master's degree in the relevant field
  • NYSC discharge certificate or Exemption Letter
  • Preferably, Minimum of five (5) Years' Work Experience within the Ministry, rising through the ranks
  • Professional certification in any Administration course.
  • Proficient in Ms-word, Excel, Presentation etc.
  • Applicants must be 35 years old or younger to be considered for the job.
