GIVO Africa is a circular economy company, leveraging the use of technology to collect, process, and upcycle plastic waste into valuable goods. We are a network of tech-enabled recycling centers with a manufacturing arm, where we make consumer and industrial products out of recyclables.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced Account Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will haverelevant experience in accounting, with a goodunderstanding of financial principles and practices. The Account Officer will be responsible for managing the company's financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managefinancial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with audits and tax preparation activities.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to management as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • ICAN/ ACCA is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience managing and leading accounting teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Goodinterpersonal and communication skills.
