Job Title: Billing Officer

Location: Mowe / Redemption City, Ogun

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Officer to join our Finance team at RHV.
  • The Billing Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing and invoicing processes, as well as maintaining comprehensive patient billing records.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and process patient invoices for services rendered, ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing information.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services, and coordinate with insurance providers as needed.
  • Calculate and apply appropriate fees, discounts, and adjustments to patient invoices in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate payment transactions by processing bank transfers and loading funds onto patient cards.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments and claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of billing activities, payment transactions, and patient communications.
  • Provide support to patients regarding billing inquiries, payment options, and insurance coverage.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing-related issues and improve billing processes and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in billingor a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian healthcare regulations, insurance billing practices, and reimbursement processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex billing data.
  • Proficiency in computerized billing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
