Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Mowe / Redemption City, Ogun

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a diligent and vigilant Security Officer to join our Security team at RHV. The Security Officer will be responsible for safeguarding the hospital's properties, equipment, and personnel, and ensuring the safety and security of everyone within the facility.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of integrity, excellent observation skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security threats and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol the hospital premises on foot or by vehicle to deter and detect security threats, unauthorized access, and suspicious activities.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to security breaches or incidents in a timely manner.
  • Conduct routine inspections of doors, windows, gates, and other entry points to ensure they are properly secured and locked.
  • Enforce access control procedures by verifying the identity of individuals entering or exiting the facility and issuing visitor passes as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and security breaches, and take appropriate action to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and property.
  • Assist with the investigation of security incidents, accidents, or violations of hospital policies and procedures, and prepare detailed incident reports as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Facilities Management and Environmental Services, to address security-related issues and concerns.
  • Provide assistance and support to patients, visitors, and staff as needed, including escorting individuals to their destinations and providing directions and information about hospital services and facilities.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, and adhere to the hospital's code of conduct and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in security or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Proven experience in security operations, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to detect and respond to security threats and emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals in a professional manner.
  • Physical fitness and agility, with the ability to stand, walk, and perform patrol duties for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, and to make quick and effective decisions in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and techniques, including access control, crowd management, and emergency response.
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems, alarm systems, and other security equipment and technologies.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
