We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Truck Driver

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Driving Responsibilities: Operating a truck to transport goods from one location to another, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Loading and Unloading: Loading and unloading cargo onto the truck using appropriate equipment and securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Route Planning: Planning the most efficient route to ensure timely delivery while considering factors like traffic, weather conditions, and road closures.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance on the truck, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, and reporting any issues to the appropriate authorities.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times. Completing paperwork such as delivery logs, inspection reports, and bills of lading.
  • Customer Service: Interacting with customers and clients at pick-up and delivery locations, ensuring professionalism and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Adherence to Regulations: Complying with all relevant regulations, including hours of service limits, weight restrictions, and hazardous materials handling protocols.
  • Communication: Maintaining communication with dispatchers and supervisors to provide updates on delivery progress and report any issues or delays.
  • Safety: Prioritizing safety at all times, both for oneself and others on the road, by following safe driving practices and using proper safety equipment.
  • Flexibility: Being flexible with work hours and schedules, as truck driving often involves long hours, overnight stays, and unpredictable delays.

Requirements

  • SSCE qualification with relevant experience.
  • Should have an active Class G License
