Registrar at Jigawa State Polytechnic

The Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse is a state government higher education institution located in Dutse, Jigawa State, Nigeria. The Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse was established in 2007 after the takeover of Hussaini Adamu Polytechnic by the Federal Government of Nigeria and renamed to Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic.

The Governing Council of the Polytechnic invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Dutse, Jigawa

Responsibilities
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative officer and is responsible to the Rector for the general administration of the Polytechnic. His/her responsibilities are:

• Taking charge of the Registry.
• Function as Secretary to the Governing Council
• Function as Secretary to the Academic Board
• Signing Certificates
• Taking charge of keeping statutory and other relevant records of the Institutions
• Interpreting of rules and regulations of the Polytechnic
• Keeping custody of the Polytechnic seal viii. Initiating and advising on training needs and manpower development of the Polytechnic
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Rector

Requirements
The candidate seeking for the post should possess any of the following qualifications:

• A holder of a good Bachelor's Degree with (minimum of Second-Class Lower division) preferably in the Arts, Social Sciences or Humanities plus at least 18 years' posts qualification cognate experience.
• A holder of Master's Degree in relevant discipline plus at least 15 years' post qualification cognate experience. Membership of a relevant and recognized professional body is Mandatory.
• Knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an added advantage.

Terms and Condition of Service

• The Registrar is tenure appointment and shall be for a period of Five (5) years in the first instance beginning from the effective date of appointment and such conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment, and the appointment is renewable for another three (3) years as final, subject to the satisfactory performance.
