Learners Crib Consult - Our client is a professional and highly ethical new nursery school located in Wuye, Abuja. They believe in fostering the intellectual, interpersonal and holistic growth of children through various learning activities in our creche, playgroup, pre nursery and nursery classes. They also offer a weekend and holiday club for children between 4 to 12 years old. Job Title: Part-Time Dance and Drama Instructor

Location: Wuye, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Part-time
Working hours: You will be working twice weekdays and every Saturdays.

Description

  • Our client is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Part Time Dance and Drama Instructor to join our team.
  • You will be responsible for organising and overseeing the Dance and Drama sessions, ensuring that children have a memorable and enjoyable experience while participating in a range of activities.
  • As an instructor, you will play a vital role in fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for performing arts among children. If you are passionate about working with children and have a background in dance and drama, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements

  • Plan and conduct and age-appropriate dance and drama classes for children and design activities that promote creativity, self-expression, and teamwork while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Prepare materials and resources required for each Dance and Drama activity.
  • Teach fundamental techniques in dance and drama, including but not limited to, body movement, coordination, rhythm, vocal projection, improvisation, and character development.
  • Supervise and support club the children during sessions, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular opportunities for children to showcase their musical talents through performances, recitals, or other events, instilling a sense of pride and accomplishment.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with relevant health and safety guidelines.
  • Attend refresher training sessions at the office twice a month to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in virtual training sessions as required, to continuously improve skills and stay updated on best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in theatre arts or performing arts education or related field.
  • A professional certification in special dance styles e.g ballet, jazz, contemporary or drama techniques.
  • Minimum of two years of previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Proficient in a variety of dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop) and drama techniques (e.g., improvisation, storytelling).
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop engaging activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to the needs of a diverse group of children.
