Job Description

• As the Haulage Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our land transport operations, including trucking, warehousing, and distribution activities.
• Your role will involve coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of cargo to and from our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize land transport operations, including route planning, scheduling, and vehicle utilization.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, trucking companies, and other vendors to arrange transportation services for inbound and outbound cargo.
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements with transportation providers, ensuring competitive rates and service levels.
• Monitor the performance of transportation vendors and service providers, conducting regular reviews and addressing any issues or concerns.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, sales, and customer service, to coordinate transportation activities and meet customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies, including licensing, permits, and insurance requirements.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of company-owned vehicles and equipment, coordinating with maintenance staff and external service providers as needed.
• Provide leadership and guidance to transportation staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics management, with a focus on land transport operations, preferably in the maritime or shipping industry.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices, with experience in managing compliance and risk mitigation.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement solutions.
• Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of transportation professionals.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements.
• Willingness to travel as needed for business meetings, site visits, and vendor negotiations.

Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 / month.
