Job Title: Lead Security Officer

Location: Iddo, Lagos

Description 

  • As the Lead Security Officer, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating security activities across our facilities and vessels, ensuring compliance with security protocols and regulations. Your leadership and expertise will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our operations and personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the security team, including assigning duties, scheduling shifts, and conducting training sessions.
  • Oversee security patrols, inspections, and surveillance activities to detect and prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities and enhance security posture.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related issues, incidents, and emergencies, coordinating response efforts and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with management, operations, and other departments to integrate security considerations into business processes and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to security incidents, investigations, training, and compliance activities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats, technologies, and trends, and recommend enhancements to security measures and practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a security officer, with at least 10years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in the maritime industry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and regulations, with expertise in access control, surveillance, risk assessment, and emergency response.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to respond calmly and decisively in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in using security equipment and technologies, such as CCTV cameras, access control systems, and incident reporting software.
  • Flexibility to respond to security incidents outside of regular hours.
