Job Title: Group Head - Corporate Services

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Head of HR will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management for the conglomerate. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement HR strategies to support the company's objectives while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies HR initiatives aligned with the group's overall business strategy.
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process for all companies within the group, ensuring the acquisition and retention of top talent to support business growth and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and promote a positive work environment.
  • Lead performance management efforts, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and productive work culture across the group.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to HR teams within each company, fostering their professional development and ensuring alignment with group-wide HR goals.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with industry standards and business objectives.
  • Lead HR analytics and reporting efforts to provide insights into workforce trends and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify HR-related opportunities and challenges and develop strategies to address them effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven10 – 15 years' experience in HR management roles, with at least 8 years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Experience working in a multi-company or corporate environment is a plus.
  • HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CIPM)
