We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Legal Advisor

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal support and advice to the management team
  • Provide legal opinions and advice on various matters
  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, rules and regulations
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings such as litigation, arbitration, and mediations
  • Research and analyze legal issues and stay updated with legal trends and developments
  • Assist in formulating the organization’s internal policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Participate in meetings with clients or other stakeholders to clarify legal perspectives
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and coordinate legal activities
  • Manage potential legal risks and recommend preemptive actions
  • Provide training to the organization on legal topics and compliance
  • Communicate with their clients and others
  • Prepare and file legal documents, such as lawsuits, appeals, wills, contracts, and deeds
  • Present facts in writing and verbally to their clients or others and argue on their behalf
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in legal documents
  • Compile and manage all legal documentation
  • Conduct legal analysis and research on various legal matters
  • Ensure the legality of commercial transactions and procedures
  • Advise the company on its legal rights and duties
  • Provide advice on different legal issues and assist in negotiations
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, leases, and other legal documents
  • Ensure the company operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Prepare reports, as required, on legal opinions, ensuring all documentation is maintained

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in the state
  • Proven experience as a Legal Advisor
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
  • Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
  • Excellent negotiation and communications skills
  • Administrative and managerial skills
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas
