Tincan Island Container Terminal Limited (TICT), established in 2004 is a multinational company operating in Nigeria with its Terminal located at Tin-can Island Port, Terminal B (2nd Gate), Apapa, Lagos and has its Head Office at 1/3 Point Road, Apapa, Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Spreader Technician

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview

  • The Spreader Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance of the spreaders and this includes routine checks, troubleshooting/diagnosis, and repairs of various port equipment such as Quay Crane (QC), Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG), Mobile Equipment (ME) & Spreader, ensuring the port equipment are available at optimal performance, cost-effective and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out repairs/maintenance as directed by the Supervisor according to the OEM specifications
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots cranes when they are broken down to identify faults/damage.
  • Makes requisition and collects spare parts for repairs and maintenance.
  • Prepare progress and completion report for work done and share with the Crane Supervisor
  • Adheres to safety requirements (right tools usage, safe working environment) while executing maintenance procedures
  • Attends weekly safety training.
  • Utilizes personal protective equipment in work areas at all time
  • Works with other technicians and supervisors to complete designated tasks
  • Takes ownership of own performance using the TICT performance management system
  • Attends and maximises training recommended by Supervisors and HR to close performance & development gaps
  • Supports the induction of new team members into the Unit
  • Performs any other duties as required by the business and as assigned by line manager.

Minimum Educational Qualifications / Certifications / Years of Experience

  • Minimum of OND or its equivalence in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of HSE level 1 professional certifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of shipping operations.
  • Good experience and certification in industrial automotive maintenance operations
  • Experience with 'Bromma'Spreader is preferred
