We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Summary

  • The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing the monitoring and evaluation, research, and learning framework of projects.
  • They will develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered by the projects.
  • The M&E Officer will also provide technical assistance to the implementing agencies, particularly in relation to monitoring, reporting, and governance issues.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop M&E Frameworks: Design and implement M&E systems, including the development of indicators, data collection methods, and tools.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee data collection processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations for program improvements.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, impact, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capacity Building: Train project staff and partners on M&E methodologies and best practices.
  • Field Visits: Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and verify data.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with program staff, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of M&E activities.
  • Knowledge Management: Document lessons learned, best practices, and innovations in M&E to support organizational learning and improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Health, Development Studies, or related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3  years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the non-profit sector or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in M&E methods and approaches, including quantitative, qualitative, and participatory methodologies. Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) and data visualization tools.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in local languages is an asset.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong organizational, team-working, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling data and preparing reports.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
