The West African Examinations Council is West Africa's foremost examining board established by law to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally.

Job Title: Database / System Administrator II

Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science or allied discipline.

Applicant must possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science or allied discipline;
• At least three (3) years hands-on practical experience;
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Strong analytical and organizational skill;
• Advanced knowledge of database management systems, structures and theory;
• Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL);
• Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), ‘Object Oriented Database Management Systems’ (ODBMS) and XML database management systems;
• Experience with DB2 and MS – SQL server;
• Experience in cognitive data reporting and analytic tools.

Additional Qualification:

• ComTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+, MCSE, MCITP

• Be able to use Personal Computers, MS Office software package and have knowledge of web-based systems;
