IITA is an international non-profit agricultural research-for-development (R4D) organization established in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and a member of the CGIAR Consortium. We invite applications for the internationally recruited position of:

Job Title: Research Technician

Locations:
Abuja, Ibadan, Kano and Onne

Background and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Assist in collecting data from field, training or meeting activities
  • Assist the project team during training, surveys and other data collection activities
  • Assist in the establishment and maintenance of demonstration facilities within and outside the campus
  • Assist to conduct field, laboratory, screen house experiments and sampling with guidance from Supervisor
  • Undertake planting and harvesting of crops
  • Conduct fertilizer and herbicide applications according to protocols
  • Collect and register data according to protocols
  • Enter data in Excel file
  • Supervise field workers
  • Undertake scoring of pest and diseases
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
  • Minimum of WASC./ National Diploma
  • At least 3 years continuous work experience in cassava value chain.
