IITA is an international non-profit agricultural research-for-development (R4D) organization established in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and a member of the CGIAR Consortium. We work with partners to enhance crop quality and productivity, reduce producer and consumer risks, and generate wealth from agriculture. We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa.

We invite applications for the internationally recruited position of:

Job Title: Research Supervisor
(Agribusiness)

Ibadan and Onne

Background and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Assist the Agribusiness lead to develop agribusiness framework for the cassava enterprises.
  • Assist in the implementation of approved agribusiness/marketing activities
  • Establish cluster farmers meetings and track minutes
  • Work with the IITA team, plan field days and training for youth and cassava farmers
  • Collect all relevant research and Project data including out grower contacts, farmers: including location, quantities, and pictures.
  • Any other duty assigned by Cassava Commodity Specialist.
Qualification and Experience
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture with a major in Agricultural.
  • Economics, Agricultural Extension, agronomy, postharvest or a related field.
  • At least 2 years' experience in cassava value chain.
