Job Summary

  • Our School iscurrently seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a Guidance Counsellor.
  • As a Student Counselor, your main responsibility is to provide guidance and support to students in various aspects of their academic and personal lives.

Job Description

  • Individual Counseling: - Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with students to address personal, academic, social andbehavioral issues
  • Develop and implement personalized counselling plans to support students in achieving their goals.
  • Group Counseling: - Organize and facilitate group counselling sessions to address common concerns among students.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills within student groups.
  • Career Guidance: - Provide guidance on career exploration and assist students in making informed decisions about their future.
  • Organize workshops and events to expose students to various career paths and opportunities.
  • Academic Support: - Collaborate with teachers to identify students who may need additional academic support. - Implement strategies to enhance students' study skills, time management, and academic performance.
  • Crisis Intervention: - Respond promptly to crises and emergencies affecting students - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement crisis intervention plans and ensure students' safety.
  • Parental Involvement: - Communicate regularly with parents to update them on their child's progress and well-being.
  • Provide workshops and resources to support parents in understanding and addressing their child's needs
  • Assess students’ attributes and help them identify their strengths
  • Give and complete assessments and tests, analyze results and provide feedback
  • Prepare & present reviews on students’ progress

Requirements

  • Relevant Degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred
  • Must Reside within Ejigbo and Environs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Empathy, compassion, and understanding of diverse student populations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues discreetly
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in counseling
  • Experience in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and academic advising preferred
  • Proficiency in using counseling assessment tools and resources
  • Highly organized and able to manage time effectively.

Salary
N70,000 - N100,000 / month.
