Librarian at the Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology (Informatics), Kazaure

The Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology, Kazaure was established by Jigawa State in the year 2000 under the license of Informatics Academy, Singapore, with a view to train and produce IT graduates that would reposition the State and Nigeria as a whole in the scheme of affairs. The institute provides every platform for the students to acquire innovative IT skills that give them more cutting edges among peers.

Since its inception, the Institute has grown to become Nigeria’s flagship, IT-led Institute, known for the excellence of its IT-teaching, IT-training and its IT-services to local, national and international organizations. What remains is for the students and other trainers to be diligent and focused as they join the IT-bandwagon, so as to reap the benefits, individually and or collectively for the overall societal development.

Qualifications / Experiences
The candidate seeking for the post should possess the following qualifications:

• Applicant must possess a Master's Degree MLS from a recognized Institution of higher learning with at least 15 years post qualification experience or, Doctorate Degree with at least 12 years' cognate experience.
• Must also possess evidence of good performance, outstanding Academic/Administrative leadership ability Must produce evidence of Registration/membership of reputable professional body/bodies in Nigeria
• Must produce evidence of ability to supervise approved research projects and exhibitions
• Must also possess evidence of Relevant publications in Journals and Textbooks equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer as follows:
  • At least twelve (12) papers presented at National/International Conferences or Seminars.
  • Either of:
    • At least 10 papers accepted for publication in reputable Journals of which seven (7) must have been published
      or
    • At least nine (9) meaningful chapters contributed in at least three (3) distinct standard text books
      or
    • At least two (2) standard textbooks in relevant field
• Must produce evidence of Community Service.
• Must be Computer Literate.

Terms of Appointment / Conditions of Service

• The appointment is for an initial term of four (4) years and renewable for another term of four years only and no more.
• The salary is consolidated as applied to Jigawa State Tertiary Institutions.
