Job Title: Truck / Trailer Driver

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Safe Operation of Vehicles:

  • Safely operate and drive trucks or trailers to transport goods to various destinations.
  • Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations to ensure the safety of both the driver and other road users.

Loading and Unloading:

  • Responsible for the loading and unloading of goods onto the truck/trailer.
  • Ensure that all goods are properly secured and that the load is balanced to prevent accidents during transit.

Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of goods transported, including delivery schedules, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure all necessary documents, such as waybills and delivery notes, are properly filled out and submitted.

Timely Deliveries:

  • Adhere to delivery schedules and timelines to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and distribution points.
  • Communicate any delays or issues with the transportation coordinator or supervisor.

Communication:

  • Maintain effective communication with the logistics team, warehouse staff, and other relevant personnel.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or issues encountered during transportation immediately.

Customer Service:

  • Interact professionally with customers during the delivery process, providing excellent customer service.
  • Handle customer inquiries and address any concerns in a courteous and timely manner.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries.

Physical Fitness:

  • Possess the physical fitness required for loading and unloading goods, as well as the endurance for long-distance driving.

Emergency Response:

  • Be prepared to respond effectively in case of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, such as accidents or breakdowns.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Class G
  • Proven experience as a truck/trailer driver.
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian road networks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail.
