We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Finance and Account

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the company's financial accounting, reporting, and compliance functions.
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
• Coordinate with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.
• Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance department.

Improvement of the SAGE ERP system integration:

• Implementation of the ERP reporting capabilities on Revenue and Business Performance
• Full migration from excel based financial processes into generating reports from SAGE X3

Accounting and Financial Reports:

• Monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
• Adequate and timely reporting of Receivables, Payables, Bank Reconciliation and Inventory
• Maintaining a complete Fixed Asset Register and monthly depreciation calculations within SAGE
• Working capital management to optimize cash flow
• Variance analysis to track budget vs. actual performance.
• Key financial ratios analysis to assess the financial health of the company.
• Quarterly and annual financial reports for stakeholders (Executive Management & Board Committees) to enhance decision-making and strategic planning

Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Annual budget preparation in collaboration with business units and department heads.
• Scenario analysis to assess the impact of different business decisions on financial performance.
• Budgetary Controls and Monthly Variance Analysis of the Annual Work Plan
• Cash Flow Forecast to aid the Board and Management decision-making
• Uploading of approved budget into SAGE X3 ERP System
• Budget tracking and reporting of each business unit's activities
• Monitoring and analyzing budget variances to identify areas for improvement.

Other Account/Finance-related services:

• Long-term financial planning to support strategic decision-making.
• Investment analysis for capital budgeting decisions.
• External Audit coordination
• Coordinate with tax advisors for tax planning, audit, and reporting, e.t.c
• Accounting and Financial Report

Requirements
What you will have:

• Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory.
• Previous experience with any of the Big 4 accounting firms or in an organization audited by the Big 4 is highly preferred.with industry experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven track record of at least 5 years in a senior finance role, preferably within the downstream sector.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
