Job Title: Manufacturing & Engineering Director
Location: Nigeria
The Position
- The Manufacturing and Engineering Director will be managing manufacturing and technical investments within the company’s factory location of Nigeria. (Economical, investments, safety, manufacturing, environmental and technical).
- This position will report to Corporate Engineering and the MD Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be a Member of the Management Team.
Tasks & Responsibilities
The Manufacturing & Engineering Director is responsible for:
- Creating and implementing a motivated Maintenance and Manufacturing department
- Continuous drive for efficiency improvement through hands on management of Manufacturing
- Pro-active participating within the Nigeria Management team.
- Pro-active maintaining a good cooperation with corporate M&E, local
- R&D dept. and other functions of Nigeria office
- Advising MD on technical investments. (Economical, investments, safety, manufacturing, environmental and technical).
- To secure a well-trained and motivated staff.
- Facilitating the best possible cost of production. Focused on cost price, production efficiency.
- Advising the General Manager on any possible improvements in Nigeria factory. (Economical, investments, safety, manufacturing, environmental and technical)
- Evaluating, managing and controlling investment and maintenance budgets.
- Minimizing scrap and wastages.
- Implementing and maintaining international standards (ISO, HACCP)
- Secure production in correct timing, cost, quantity and quality
- Guaranty adequate Production Reporting to Nigeria Management.
- To maintain the lowest possible cost price staying competitive in the markets.
- Creating production flexibility and manufacturing innovations enabling fast implementation of new products for coming/staying ahead of the competition.
- Maintaining a motivated and flexible workforce in the factory.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Successful candidate does not need to be located in Nigeria as company will pay relocation expenses;
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering MBA is a plus.
- Service focused, motivating, team player.
- 10 Year experience in manufacturing environment, food sector preferred.
- In depth knowledge in manufacturing and technical management with the required specialized skills and knowledge.
- In depth experience in manufacturing and engineering sugar confectionery products and relevant processes preferred.
- Ability to maintain production flexibility in the perspective of the group values (Economical, volumes, safety, manufacturing and technical).
- Pro-active in improving processes in general by forwarding ideas etc.
- Good communications skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Languages: English
- Flexible attitude, willing to travel at any time and cultural awareness.
